Full-Time Remote Android Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Android Developer to join our growing technology team on a full-time remote basis in Canada.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience developing high-quality Android applications using Kotlin, Android SDK, Android Studio, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android architecture.

You will work closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, backend developers, and QA engineers to build scalable, reliable, and user-friendly mobile applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain native Android applications.
• Build modern and responsive user interfaces using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Implement Android applications using MVVM, Clean Architecture, and Android Jetpack.
• Integrate REST APIs, JSON services, third-party SDKs, and backend systems.
• Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Debug application issues and improve performance and stability.
• Conduct code reviews and follow development best practices.
• Work with Git/GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
• Collaborate with designers, backend developers, QA teams, and product managers.
• Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and technical discussions.
• Ensure applications work effectively across different Android devices and OS versions.
• Help publish and maintain applications on the Google Play Store.

Required Skills

• 2–5+ years of professional Android development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Kotlin.
• Strong experience with Android Studio and Android SDK.
• Experience with Jetpack Compose.
• Good understanding of MVVM / Clean Architecture.
• Experience with Android Jetpack libraries.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and JSON.
• Experience with Git and GitHub/GitLab.
• Knowledge of SQLite, Room Database, or similar local databases.
• Understanding of Android application lifecycle and performance optimization.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Good English communication skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience with Firebase.
• Experience with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.
• Experience with Hilt/Koin dependency injection.
• Experience with unit and UI testing using JUnit/Espresso.
• CI/CD experience for Android applications.
• Google Play Store publishing experience.
• Experience with payment gateways or third-party API integrations.
• Basic knowledge of backend technologies.
